The seventh season of America's Got Talent, a reality television series, is scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2012. This season will be the first season without judge Piers Morgan. He will be replaced by radio host Howard Stern, as announced on his SiriusXM radio show on December 15, 2011. Because of Stern's commitments to his radio program, the show will also move to New York City.[1]
Simon Cowell, the show's executive producer, also announced on The New York Post in December 2011 that the show will be a receiving a "top-to-bottom makeover", confirming that there will be a fourth judge, in addition to new graphics, lighting, theme music, and a larger live audience. He also expects current judges Osbourne and Mandel, in addition to host Nick Cannon, to continue for the seventh season. [2]
Producers' auditions have been held in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Tampa, Charlotte, Austin, St. Louis, and San Francisco.[3][4]
Live theater auditions in front of the judges are expected to begin in February 2012.
